About Us
John Vandenberg - Pastor
Pastor John grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and he is the oldest of four boys. He attended Oral Roberts University where he studied Youth Ministry and Vocal Performance Music. He went to Oklahoma School of Ministry and is Licensed with the Assemblies of God. He and his wife, Stephanie, have been pastoring New Hope Community Church since October 2014. They have 12+ years of Youth Ministry experience. He has served in 8 churches in Michigan and Oklahoma in youth and worship ministries. John is also involved in Bikers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry and he enjoys riding Harley's with Jesus.
Stephanie grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She has her Associate of Arts degree from Connors State College and studied Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting and Economics at Grand Valley State University. She is currently attending School of Ministry classes to obtain her Certification with the Assemblies of God. Stephanie has served alongside John in youth ministry as well as leading worship. She has served in leadership with local MOPS groups and as national level volunteer Community Events Planner. Stephanie currently leads worship at New Hope Community Church.
John and Stephanie have been married since July 2000, and have two boys, Caleb and Zachary. The family enjoys watching college football together where they divide their time between the Michigan State Spartans and the Oklahoma Sooners. The family also enojys hiking and riding bikes together.
Stacie Wasil - Kids' Director
Stacie has been leading the kids of New Hope since she was a teenager herself. Her love for our kids is evident in all that she does. Her devotion to BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) has placed NHCC as one of the top giving churches in its class in the nation for many years running.
